Nos Estados Unidos, procuradores federais revelaram o teor do indiciamento contra o ex-presidente e pré-candidato Donald Trump. Ele foi acusado criminalmente na investigação federal sobre a retirada de documentos sigilosos do governo no final do seu mandato, em janeiro de 2021. Esta é a primeira vez na história que um mandatário da Casa Branca, no exercício do cargo ou fora dele, é acusado de crimes federais.
Donald Trump também teria tentado obstruir os esforços do governo para recuperar os arquivos. Entre os papéis, estavam documentos dos programas nucleares dos Estados Unidos, vulnerabilidades do país e seus aliados a ataques militares e planos para possível retaliação em resposta a um ataque estrangeiro. Nessa quinta, Donald Trump tinha postado na rede social criada por ele que foi convocado para comparecer ao tribunal federal de Miami na próxima terça-feira. Em um vídeo, ele se declarou inocente e vítima de perseguição pelo governo Biden. Em março, ele foi acusado na justiça comum no caso do suborno de uma atriz.
