Exército apoia golpe no Níger e fecha fronteiras no país africano

No Níger, o comando do exército declarou apoio ao golpe praticado ontem por soldados da guarda presidencial que prenderam o chefe do executivo do país. Após a declaração de apoio do comando do exército, um general fez um pronunciamento na TV estatal anunciando a suspensão de todos os partidos políticos do Níger até segunda ordem.
O grupo de soldados que anunciou o golpe ontem já havia decretado o fechamento das fronteiras e um toque de recolher nacional. Hoje apoiadores dos militares se reuniram diante da Assembleia Nacional na capital Niamei, alguns seguravam bandeiras da Rússia e uma multidão atacou a sede do partido que estava no poder, incendiando também carros no entorno.
O secretário geral da ONU, Antônio Guterres, exigiu a libertação imediata e incondicional do presidente deposto. Os militares removeram o presidente Mohamed Bazoum, no poder desde abril de 2021, marcando o 7º golpe nas Áfricas Ocidental e Central desde 2020.
