No STF, Lula defende regulação das redes sociais no país

Ao participar da abertura do Ano Judiciário de 2024, o presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva defendeu nesta quinta-feira (1º) a regulação das redes sociais no país, com punição para as empresas proprietárias pelos crimes cometidos nas plataformas sob sua responsabilidade.
“É preciso criminalizar aqueles que incitam a violência nas redes sociais, mas também é necessário responsabilizar as empresas pelos crimes que são cometidos nas suas plataformas, a exemplo da pedofilia, incentivo a massacres nas escolas e estimular a mutilação de adolescentes e crianças”, defendeu em discurso.
Para o presidente, a regulação deve ser feita de maneira democrática, levando em conta os benefícios proporcionados pela tecnologia, bem como o “retrocesso nas conquistas pelas quais tanto lutamos”.
O presidente do Congresso Nacional, senador Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), presente à cerimônia, também mencionou o tema, destacando ser uma pauta comum ao Legislativo e no Judiciário.
Na Câmara dos Deputados, tramita projeto de lei, conhecido como PL das Fake News, que trata de regras para o funcionamento das redes sociais no país e o combate à divulgação de notícias falsas. O texto foi retirado da pauta de votação após sofrer críticas de parlamentares.
