A propaganda eleitoral no rádio e na TV começará a ser veiculada a partir do dia 26 de agosto e terminará no dia 1º de outubro, véspera da votação no primeiro turno.
Os programas da propaganda eleitoral gratuita na televisão para presidente serão veiculados às terças-feiras, quintas-feiras e aos sábados, sempre das 13h às 13h25 e das 20h às 20h25. Já no Rádio os programas serão levados ao ar das 7h às 7h25, e das 12h às 12h25.
O ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) é quem terá mais espaço no horário eleitoral, pois ele reuniu partidos que têm 141 parlamentares na Câmara – PT, PSB, PSol, PCdoB, PV, Rede, Solidariedade, Avante, PROS e Agir.
O presidente cessante Jair Bolsonaro (PL) terá o segundo maior tempo no rádio e na TV, cuja candidatura é apoiada por 101 deputados e deputadas do PL, do PP e do Republicanos.
Conforme a legislação eleitoral, 90% do tempo total de propaganda são distribuídos proporcionalmente pelo número de deputados. O restante (10%) é dividido igualitariamente. A portaria também traz a tabela de representatividade dos partidos para a realização de debates entre os candidatos. Nesse caso, o critério é a bancada no Congresso Nacional.
