A Empresa Gontijo de Transportes, recebeu da fabricante de carrocerias Busscar,17 novos ônibus do modelo Vissta Buss 360. que foram montados na fabrica da encarrocadora sediada em Joinville – Santa Catarina, os novos veiculos possuem chassi Scania K400B 6×2, e são equipados com 46 poltronas possuem entrada USB, ar-condicionado e geladeira. Na útima semana os ônibus foram emplacados e nesta semana começaram a ser utilizados nas linhas interestaduais da empresa.
A Gontijo é uma empresa de transporte rodoviário de passageiros sediada na cidade de Belo Horizonte, estado de Minas Gerais, possuindo uma frota de cerca de 1500 veículos, sem contar as suas coligadas ( viações Nacional, Continental e São Cristovão ). Foi fundada em 1943 pelo jovem mecânico Abílio Gontijo, que na época tinha apenas 19 anos de idade. De 2004 até 2015, a São Geraldo pertenceu ao grupo, sendo incorporada em definitivo a frota da Gontijo.
